Esthetic medicine offers several types of injections depending on the desired anti-aging effect. Depending on whether you want to treat a loss of volume due to sagging cheekbones, sagging skin, weight loss or wrinkles fillers.
There are different injections depending on the area to be treated, the product used and the desired correction... To remedy sagging skin or erase wrinkles, anti-aging injections techniques exist such as botulinum toxin and Fillers products.
Wrinkles can form over time and with the contraction of certain muscles. The injection of botulinum toxin allows these muscles to rest. This reduces the appearance of wrinkles while maintaining a natural expression. To treat frown lines or expression wrinkles, it is recommended to use botulinum toxin, which blocks the transmission with the muscle, resulting in a decrease in its contraction.
This type of injection is intended for the upper part of the face: crow's feet wrinkles around the eyes, horizontal wrinkles on the forehead, lion's eye wrinkles (glabella) in the brow area. On the forehead and between the eyebrows, the injection of botulinum toxin erases this wrinkle that hardens the eyes. When this wrinkle is already marked, it can be filled in with a filler product, but botulinum toxin prevents it from deepening further. After the injection, the skin is relaxed and smooth, the look is softer and the face is rested.
As for the course of the treatment, the product is injected by small injections under the skin at the level of the muscles responsible for the wrinkle, without anesthesia, and lasts only a few minutes. The effects of the treatment begin to appear after three days, maximum fifteen. The effects last up to 6 months.
Undesirable effects are very rare: allergy to the product or infection at the injection site are exceptional. A slight sensation of tension in the forehead and a small hematoma may be observed, but these disappear rapidly.
Fillers are used to restore volume by filling in the wrinkles formed by muscle activity. This type of injection naturally fills in nasolabial folds, bitterness folds and wrinkles, and also helps to redefine lips that tend to become thinner and wrinkled. The injection of Hyaluronic acid is the leading injectable product and has dethroned collagen, it is the most common treatment in aesthetic medicine.
This substance stimulates the production of collagen and has a strong water retention capacity, which will rehydrate the deep layers of the skin. The skin will then regain volume and fill in the wrinkles. This injection is recommended in particular for the treatment of facial furrows, to reduce dark circles under the eyes, to restore volume to the lips and cheekbones, and to redefine the oval of the face.
Hyaluronic acid and collagen are essential for maintaining the structure of the skin's layers. Collagen gives the skin its firmness while Hyaluronic acid nourishes and hydrates collagen, contributing to its moisturizing power, the skin becomes soft, smooth and elastic, especially on the face and lips.
The quantity and quality of the dermis progressively decreases with age. The skin becomes more fragile and the first wrinkles appear. Gradually, the tissues become looser and the face becomes hollow. It thus serves to maintain the skin's hydration and contributes to its tone. Following the treatment, a slight redness, small hematomas, skin sensitivity or itching may appear. This is a normal consequence of the injection. This discomfort is temporary and disappears after one or two days.
